Rhyming

Find the pattern of the rhyme.

Hickory, Dickory, Dock
Hickory, dickory, dock.
Two mice ran up the clock.
The clock struck one.
Enjoy the pun.
Hickory, dickory, dock.
--Kenn Nesbitt

After School
Lie beneath a spreading treeWith golden flowers in the sun.
Count to five on all the petals,Never think of five plus one.
Watch the building-crammed horizon,
Sky no longer meeting ground.
Watch the golden flowers witherWatch the golden dreams fall down.

Today I Touched the Buffalobster

Today I touched the buffalobster
and the goldfishark,
the eagleopard, ocelotter,
and the weaselark.
I fed the frogorilla
and I felt the reindeerat.
I prodded the piguana
and I scratched the alpacat.
I gazed at the gazellephant.
I gawked at the gooseal.
I caught the cockroachimpanzeebra
and the bumblebeel.
I pet the parroturtle,
and the pelicangaroo.
It's freaky, but it's fun here
at the Mutant Petting Zoo.

Sites to Study

http://www.spellingcity.com/ You can type in the frequently misspelled words that you have trouble with on this page, and it will give you games, and activities to help you study the words.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuiQvPLWziQ&feature=related This site is a video that shows earth's rotation around the sun.

http://a4esl.org/q/h/grammar.html This site may seem a little overwhelming, but don't get overwhelmed. Simply click on on the blue words, under each section, and the site will appear. I suggest working under the areas on sentence structure, and word choice, but go to any area that you know you struggle with.

Here is a fun site to help you understand animal adaptations.

When I find more I will post them, so keep checking.

Testing

As you know testing is next week. It is important for you to get plenty of rest, and eat a healthy big breakfast every morning. Remember the three big mistakes on these types of tests, 1. not being on the correct answers space, 2. not reading all the answers before you mark your answer, and 3. not taking your time. Make sure you are early to school. We will be have our testing in the mornings, mostly.
Below under sites to study are some sites that can help you prepare for what may be on the test. Most all the sites are fun, and some are just videos for you to watch. This is why I didn't give you homework today, so please take this time to really go over the sites. I want you to also go over the sites you missed, or just go through them again this weekend. Preparation, and practice makes perfect.

Dear Parents,

I am sure many of you, like me, want to help to aid the relief of Haiti, but may not be sure how, or what to do. The site below will take you to the red cross site. There are many suggestions for what we can do. You can even text $10.00 right from your phone. The slightest gesture makes a big difference, and prayer makes all the difference.
